Architettura di costa. Progettare il turismo in Italia negli anni Sessanta

The article tries to reconstruct the Italian tourism's history and the relations with the development of the coasts, focusing in particular on projects of the '60s, relevant for their high quality and for the architects involved as BBPR, Quaroni, Gardella, D' Olivo, De Carlo, Riva, Drugman, Zanuso, Cini Boeri: most of theme were prominent figures of the time and protagonists of the Italian twentieth century . The essay deals two different levels: the urban and territorial scale of the new settlements of the coast, and the architectural (residence and service) dimension; both subject were born around the theme of tourism, and proposed special spatial, typological and stylistic solution.

Il saggio cerca di ricostruire la storia dell’architettura italiana turistica legata allo sviluppo delle coste ed in particolare i progetti degli anni Sessanta, rilevanti per l’alta qualità delle proposte e per il calibro dei progettisti coinvolti tra cui compaiono i BBPR, Quaroni, Gardella, D'Olivo, De Carlo, Riva, Drugman, Zanuso, Cini Boeri: per lo più figure di spicco dell’epoca e protagonisti del Novecento italiano. Il saggio affronta sia le proposte a scala urbano-territoriale dei nuovi insediamenti di costa, sia le architetture residenziali e di servizio che sono nate attorno al tema del turismo, con le loro proposte spaziali, tipologiche e stilistiche.
