This volume presents for the first time in French language an encompassing review of the developmental and applied linguistics literature on metalinguistic awareness (MLA). It also describes in detail three tests for assessing MLA that cover from preschool to adult age, and parallel other linguistic versions already existing in Italian (Pinto, 1999), English (Pinto, Titone, Trusso, 1999) and Spanish (Pinto, Titone, Gonzales Gil, 2000). These tests are the most complete instruments for assessing MLA and currently in use in international research on bilingualism. This volume fills an important gap in one of the most influential European languages such as French and addresses the French-speaking world in its entireness.

Abstract
This volume presents for the first time in French language an encompassing review of the developmental and applied linguistics literature on metalinguistic awareness (MLA). It also describes in detail three tests for assessing MLA that cover from preschool to adult age, and parallel other linguistic versions already existing in Italian (Pinto, 1999), English (Pinto, Titone, Trusso, 1999) and Spanish (Pinto, Titone, Gonzales Gil, 2000). These tests are the most complete instruments for assessing MLA and currently in use in international research on bilingualism. This volume fills an important gap in one of the most influential European languages such as French and addresses the French-speaking world in its entireness.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
