In this study we seek to integrate the socio-psychological analysis of gambling behavior with the economic one. In particular, on the basis of a questionnaire administered to university students, we analyze how attitudes towards risk, more precisely, the amount at stake at which preference for certainty prevails, contribute to predicting the probability of becoming a gambler.

Abstract

In this study we seek to integrate the socio-psychological analysis of gambling behavior with the economic one. In particular, on the basis of a questionnaire administered to university students, we analyze how attitudes towards risk, more precisely, the amount at stake at which preference for certainty prevails, contribute to predicting the probability of becoming a gambler.
