From the skin to the structure, reading degradation for restoration

Case study on the degradation of materials conducted by ISCR, which shows the correlation between the observation of surfaces and decoding of the causes of deterioration of materials and structures, in reference to the historical information on the vicissitudes suffered by the artifact under study. Deepening of the investigation from the observation timely architectural surfaces, in a reading path aimed at acquiring the knowledge needed to get to define an intervention project.

Caso di studio sul degrado dei materiali condotto dall'Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro (ISCR), da cui emerge la correlazione fra l’osservazione delle superfici e la decodifica delle cause di deterioramento di materiali e strutture, in riferimento anche alle notizie storiche sulle vicissitudini subite dal manufatto oggetto di studio. Approfondimento delle indagini a partire dall’osservazione puntuale delle superfici architettoniche, in un percorso di lettura finalizzato ad acquisire le conoscenze necessarie per giungere a definire un progetto di intervento.
