7 esperienze di architettura

The issues that I propose in this book are some of the experiences of my experimental research activities since 2001. A collection of stories, work-reflections and dialogues, which have remained in the memory and involving an important aspect of our job: to express themselves through the design, teaching and writing. The common thread between these three actions is the desire to turn to the built environment as a starting point for the project, with the intent to deny the idea of the tabula rasa that generates the illusion of not having relations with the past. An important aspect of our profession as architects is the fact that we have to deal with pre-existing structures – a very common occurrence in Italy.

I temi che propongo in questo libro costituiscono alcune delle esperienze della mia attività sperimentale di ricerca dal 2001 ad oggi. Una raccolta di storie, lavori-riflessioni e dialoghi, che sono rimasti nella memoria e che coinvolgono un importante aspetto della professione dell’architetto: quello di esprimersi attraverso il progetto, la didattica e la scrittura. Il filo che unisce queste tre azioni è il desiderio di rivolgersi all’ambiente costruito come punto di partenza per il progetto, con l’intento di negare l’idea della tabula rasa che genera l’illusione di non avere rapporti con il passato.
