This text intends to propose an analysis of the educational situation on the basis of some among the main contemporary theories. To each one of these theories is dedicated a chapter: 1) Giovanni Arrighi's theory of the economic and political "chaos"; 2) the "liquid society" described by Zygmunt Bauman; 3) Alasdair MacIntyre's and Charles Taylor's perspectives on moral philosophy; 4) positive psychology and its applications to the world of education; 5) the so-called character education in Michelle Borba's and Thomas Lickona's theories.
Il testo intende proporre un'analisi della situazione educativa contemporanea sulla base di alcune chiavi di lettura privilegiate, a cui sono dedicati i singoli capitoli in cui articola l'opera: a) la teoria del "caos" di Giovanni Arrighi; b) la "liquidità" descritta da Zygmunt Bauman; c) le nuove prospettive "etiche" di Alasdair MacIntyre e di Charles Taylor; d) la psicologia positiva nelle sue applicazioni al mondo della formazione; e) la cosiddetta character education nelle versioni di Michelle Borba e di Thomas Lickona.
