This volume is dedicated to the city of Rome. The conformation of the monocentric city was changed from the New General Plan, which introduced a polycentric urban model consists of a network of integrated and equipped with central services. The intent is to reconfigure thinking of Rome "" many cities "," of which it is composed. The editorials of Newfoundland, Nicolini and Quilici discuss such a vision of the plan. Questo volume è dedicato alla città di Roma. La conformazione monocentrica della città è stata modificata da Nuovo Piano Regolatore Generale che ha introdotto un modello urbano policentrico formato da una rete di centralità integrate e dotate di servizi. L'intento è di riconfigurare Roma pensando alle "tante città" di cui è composta. Gli editoriali di Terranova, Nicolini e Quilici discutono di una tale visione del piano. Gli articoli del volume affrontano questioni ad essa connesse. Innanzitutto l'influenza che esercitano sulla città alcuni landmark progettati per la mano di grandi firme. Poi il ruolo che hanno le infrastrutture romane nella città policentrica, in particolare il Grande Raccordo Anulare e la Tangenziale. Infine le forme che centro e periurbano stanno assumendo o potrebbero assumere. A margine di questa discussione la posizione di alcune essenziali figure della cultura architettonica e artistica romana e due questioni importanti per Roma contemporanea: le rovine e l'informazione.
