The conference was devoted to studying the spread of Christianity in the Middle East during the first seven centuries of the Christian era. Particular attention was paid to those areas which, in a way or another, were affected by the influence of Iranian culture, from Mesopotamia to the Indus River, and from the Caucasus to the Indian Ocean.
