Abstract

The blueprint’s idea is to equip Chioggia harbour with ecologically efficientbasins, real environmental devices: the lagoonlandscape is thefundamental reference value, essential to maintain a relationship with the consolidated memory of the territory and make it available for the future. Planning the port district comes from the critical issues of the present and looks to the future through a series of interventions “grafting” in the territory, by changing the morphology and the use, to create spaces that can support the fishing sector’s development under the dimensional profile, the functional one and, above all, of representation. It is a plan built through architecture, which presupposes the construction of a real habitat. The island of Aleghero was conceived as an organism made of two macro-entities from whichareas and paths required to contain all the features and services for users, workers and citizens of the island, derive. On the one hand the ichthyic centre, on the other hand the mobile and metamorphiclandscape of the saltmarsh areboth included in a double image, which is reflected in a large rectilinear trajectory wheretwo points in space arekeystones for the horizontal movement: the tower and the sea obelisk. Through capillary pathways that lead from the natural environment to the architectural one, the individual is continuously involved in a double changing embodiment, moving within a landscape of elements (architectures, infrastructures, natural features, open spaces) able to read and interpret this extraordinary palimpsest of nature, art and history proper of the Venetian lagoon.
