The book explores descriptively and interpretatively the ways language and law interact from an interdisciplinary perspective, and allows various approaches to be taken from academic and professional contexts. It presents analyses of topic areas where definitional insights, legal discourse (spoken and written), language policy, identity, power, ideology, multilingualism, translation and interpreting are captivetely discussed, and moves on to address applications to the academiy and the workplace.
