Abstract
With the rapid expansion of research and policy interest in migration over the last two decades there has been a significant paradigm shift, that considerably informed our understanding of the recent migration process and its effects. Aim of this paper is to examine the long-term trends of Italian migration to Australia according to this theoretical framework, within the international context and focussing on the last two decades. Analyzing the most recent data – both those collected by Istat (Italy) and by Diac (Australia) – this research identifies a new wave of Italian emigration that is heading to Australia, highlighting the features and linking it to the recent economic crisis, particularly hard within Italy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
