This article illustrates the importance of rhetoric for Christian authors since the early beginnings (I ex-II in). More specifically, this study shows how, in the First letter of Clement to the Corinthians and in Ignatius, the interlocutors are being persuaded by their careful choice of words and through the use of exempla.
