L'architettura come processo. Il mondo plastico murario in divenire

Every man tends to be the architect of the space in which lives. The man who dwells in a place, the man working, praying, playing, or defending to survive, organizes around himself a space that change over time, adapts and transforms. For this, by the life and by the movement that is associated with it, comes the recognizable order of architecture and the ordered dispose of the material that forms it: the empty, the transparent of the void which hosts any movement, find the their complement in the fixity of the full, the solid, the opaque of the construction that limits and gives meaning to the spaces. Should be today studied, for this, the specificities of the transformation processes, the different events of cities and buildings and their intertwining as results of multiple transformations. Which are not a fragmented and illegible magma, but form, all together, a story that has its own structure, with its principles and rules. Requiring, to be comprised, a new critical work and an innovative effort of synthesis. This work is intended as a contribution to this renewal.

Ogni uomo tende ad essere architetto dello spazio che vive: nel quale si muove, sosta, riposa. L’uomo che abita un luogo, l’uomo che lavora, prega, gioca, o si difende per sopravvivere, organizza intorno a sé uno spazio che nel tempo modifica, adatta, trasforma. Per questo, dalla vita e dal moto che ad essa è associato, deriva l’ordine riconoscibile dell’architettura e dell’ordinato disporsi del materiale che le dà forma: il vuoto, l’aereo, il trasparente che accolgono il movimento, trovano il loro complemento nella fissità del pieno, del solido, dell’opaco della costruzione che limita e dà significato agli spazi. Occorre oggi rintracciare, per questo, le specificità dei singoli processi, le vicende di città ed edifici e il loro intrecciarsi, gli esiti multipli delle trasformazioni. Le quali non sono un magma frammentato e illeggibile, ma costruiscono, tutti insieme, una trama che possiede una propria struttura, con propri principi e regole. Che richiedono, per essere compresi, un nuovo esercizio critico e un’ innovativa operazione di sintesi. “L’Architettura come processo” vuole essere un contributo a questo metodo di studiare la realtà costruita, rielaborando e rifondendo consolidate riflessioni personali nella convinzione che un’idea espressa attraverso la scrittura è, come un’architettura, il prodotto di un processo plastico che procede per modificazioni successive.
