The book is organized into two parts. The first part deals with the fundamentals and insights, including a detailed analysis of the work services, within a a rehabilitation the classical disutility's e approach, the Marshallian approach to welfare theory, behaviour under uncertainty and game theory . The second part, the insights, examines, among others, the Coase theorem, elements of the economic theory of the environment and the theory of the firm as a complex organization. The latter argument blends in one the various theories of the firm , the theory of contracts and the theory of information. The volume presents itself not as a text tout court but as a container for topics of interest in modern basic microeconomics .

Il testo è organizzato in due parti, la prima tratta dei fondamenti ed approfondimenti, tra i quali una dettagliata analisi dei servizi lavorativi anche in una riabilitazione dell'approccio classico della disutilità, l'approccio marshalliano alla teoria del benessere, incertezza e teoria dei giochi, e la seconda parte degli approfondimenti tra gli altri esamina il teorema di Coase, elementi di teoria economica dell'ambiente e la teoria dell'impresa come organizzazione complessa, che fonde in uno le varie teorie dell'impresa e la teoria dei contratti e dell'informazione. Il volume si propone non come testo tout-court ma come contenitore di topics d'interesse nella moderna microeconomia di base
