Abstract
Aires Barbosa, arguing against Praise of Folly by Erasmus in his poem Antimoria, also reaffirmed the superiority he often assigned to poetry over other literary forms. This judgment represented a cornerstone of the humanistic cultural system, in which were often opposed the proponents of a poem of civil and moral imprint, and those who understood it, platonically, as an irrational fury, divinely inspired. The syncretistic celebration of a poetry at the same time divine and civilizing, operated by Poliziano, was fundamental for his student Barbosa; whose austere options on a thematic and formal level (rejection of amorous and mythological contents) also reveal partial adhesion to Savonarola's teachings.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
