The essay debates the "sacrificial bodies" of three mithical mothers - Clytemnestra, Jocasta and Medea – and their representation in Pier Paolo Pasolini's films. In his “tribal” Greece, the voice or the silence of a mother let emerge the order of a culture that is redeemed by the legendary Great Mother and proceeds towards the civic conquest of a homeland.
Il saggio ripercorre i "corpi sacrificali" di tre madri madri mitiche memorabili - Clitemnestra, Giocasta e Medea - affidandole all'efficacia filmica del cinema di Pier Paolo Pasolini. Nella sua Grecia "tribale", attraverso la voce o il silenzio di una madre, si lascia affiorare l'ordine inaugurale di una cultura che si riscatta dal calco mitico della Grande Madre e procede verso la sofferta conquista civica di una patria.
