Le macchine e l’agricoltura italiana

The aim of this paper is to give an articulate framework of the main issues re¬garding the agricultural mechanization in Italy, using a multidisciplinary approach. In particular, on the basis of a thorough analysis about the evolution and the current proportion of the fleet, the paper examines closely some important aspects as: the comparison among the Italian regions and among Italy and other European countries; the impact of the machine-tilling on the soil; the European and Italian policies supporting farm mechanization; the economic weight of the machine sector and its role on productive results in the Italian agriculture; the is¬sue of safety at work. The structural analysis of the fleet’s evolution and proportion have been de¬veloped using information from INEA RICA database and are enhanced by a de¬tailed statistical appendix.
