In the first part of this article, a comprehensive overview is given of the "generalized Balescu-Lenard" (gBL) transport theory, a self-consistent action-angle transport formalism arising from the gBL collision operator.In the second part of this article, applications of the gBL transport theory obtained by specifying the details of the underlying perturbing spectra are presented. The article ends with a formal, fully turbulent generalization of the gBL operator.
