Tre committenti per santa Francesca. Le fonti del ciclo della chiesa vecchia di Tor de' Specchi

The article aims to identify the souces which inspired the frescoes on the life and the miracles of Sant Frances of Rome which were realized in the little chapel of the oblate monastery of Tor de Specchi (Rome) in 1468. On the others it emerges the so-called Life I written by fra Ippolito. More generally in the program is possible to identify the different but in someway overlapping needs of the oblates, of their élite families and of the Olivetan Order in which the holiness of St Frances was brought back.

L'articolo identifica le diverse fonti che ispirarono gli affreschi relativi alla vita e ai miracoli di santa Francesca Romana realizzati nella piccola chiesa del monastero delle oblate di Tor de Specchi nel 1468. Tra le altre spicca la cosiddetta vita I di fra Ippolito da Roma. Più in generale alla base del programma pittorico si identificano le esigenze solo in parte sovrapponibili delle oblate, delle famiglie dell'élite romana a cui appartenevano e infine dell'ordine olivetano nel cui contesto la santità di Francesca fu ricondotta.
