Quand on parle de la pratique de l'ironie dans la littérature contemporaine on songe volontiers aux écrivains "minimalistes" et notamment à Jean-Philippe Toussaint. Les techniques narratives employées par celui-ci ont pu étayer son image d'"ironiste" dans la scène littéraire des années80 et 90.
