The survey of the monumental complex of the theatre and amphitheatre of Mérida was the result of two surveying campaigns carried out successively in October 2006 and March 2010. Understandably, preparations for a surveying campaign of vast archaelogical sites like this require a time consuming stage of preparations and analyses aimed at the optimization of the collected data. This stage was considered essential for two reasons. Firstly, because the results of the preparatory stage serve as the material subject to further interventions leading to the realization of surveying processes. Secondly, because only the data obtained in this way will contain all numerical information taken from measuring processes and they will be the only ones that can always be used as acritical datum inasmach as they had not been processed.

Abstract
The survey of the monumental complex of the theatre and amphitheatre of Mérida was the result of two surveying campaigns carried out successively in October 2006 and March 2010. Understandably, preparations for a surveying campaign of vast archaelogical sites like this require a time consuming stage of preparations and analyses aimed at the optimization of the collected data. This stage was considered essential for two reasons. Firstly, because the results of the preparatory stage serve as the material subject to further interventions leading to the realization of surveying processes. Secondly, because only the data obtained in this way will contain all numerical information taken from measuring processes and they will be the only ones that can always be used as acritical datum inasmach as they had not been processed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
