La miniatura abruzzese in epoca gotica e tardogotica.

The essay is dedicated to the gothic and late-gothic illumination produced in the Abruzzi and it consists in an exhaustive survey of the production, based on a decade of research on the area and in the main libraries in Italy and abroad. A great number of new illuminated manuscripts and workshops are presented and, for the first time since the beginning of the 20th century, it is possible to outline the profile of the illuminated production in an area which, between the 14th and 15th century, was not at all provincial, in comparison to the other regions of central Italy

Il saggio è dedicato alla miniatura abruzzese di epoca gotica e tardogotica e costituisce una panoramica esauriente della produzione miniata finora nota, basata su un decennio di indagini sul territorio e nelle principali biblioteche italiane e internazionali. Vengono presentati numerosi materiali del tutto nuovi e per la prima volta, dagli anni trenta del Novecento, si traccia il profilo della tradizione miniata di un’area che tra XIV e XV secolo non era per nulla provinciale, rispetto alle altre dell’Italia centrale
