In the multicentric world, which lives in a multitude of autonomous actors and structures, processes and their decision-making powers - from multinationals to ethnic minorities, transnational political parties to international NGOs - the identity and sovereignty of the nation-state , along with its economic autonomy, are challenged by multiple parties. It seems destined to succumb to heavy constraints on their economic sovereignty exercised by the processes of global interdependence. This intervention aims to illustrate some of the most significant contributions to the contemporary debate on the subject, which has articulated positions rather: if for some authors processes in place gradually erased the sovereignty of states, and whether other, on the opposite side, the latter would emerge even stronger, much of the new literature on the issue of sovereignty is more oriented to cautiously investigate whether and to what extent nation states are themselves actors and promoters of the processes of global interdependence.

Abstract
In the multicentric world, which lives in a multitude of autonomous actors and structures, processes and their decision-making powers - from multinationals to ethnic minorities, transnational political parties to international NGOs - the identity and sovereignty of the nation-state , along with its economic autonomy, are challenged by multiple parties. It seems destined to succumb to heavy constraints on their economic sovereignty exercised by the processes of global interdependence. This intervention aims to illustrate some of the most significant contributions to the contemporary debate on the subject, which has articulated positions rather: if for some authors processes in place gradually erased the sovereignty of states, and whether other, on the opposite side, the latter would emerge even stronger, much of the new literature on the issue of sovereignty is more oriented to cautiously investigate whether and to what extent nation states are themselves actors and promoters of the processes of global interdependence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
