The research defined, implemented and conceptually verified a system based on an innovative high level representation of knowledge in the building field for the purpose of developing cross-cultural collaboration in architectural design which will enhance the quality of design solutions. Such a representation allows the design process to be managed so as to facilitate a more integrated and effective collaboration in the design process allowing professional figures from very different cultural backgrounds to collaborate by means of mutual understanding.
