The use of a clinical case is adopted to describethirteen phases of the traditional hypnotic process and to point out these the steps of the Ericksonian psychotherapy process. A careful observation leads as well to identify the important steps through which the subject gradually shifts his attention from his outer reality to a hypnotic reality, thereby entering into a hypnotic state.
