Palazzo Novelli già Petrucci a Carinola (CE) - scheda

La scheda, elaborata nell’ambito della ricerca “Verso un repertorio dell’Architettura catalana” (coordinatore nazionale Prof. Cesare Cundari), realizzata insieme a numerose altre schede per registrare la consistenza di episodi relativi alla architettura catalana in Campania, è stata elaborata per essere riversata in un data-base georeferenziato appositamente realizzato nell’ambito della stessa ricerca. Nella presente scheda viene descritto il palazzo Novelli già Petrucci del comune di Carinola in provincia di Caserta. Il palazzo è stato costruito nella seconda metà del XV secolo come dimora di Antonello Petrucci, segretario del re Ferrante. La fabbrica si caratterizza per una serie di elementi tipici dell’architettura catalana sia nella distribuzione spaziale che in facciata e che hanno condotto all’ipotesi di più fasi edilizie avvicendatesi durante il XV secolo: una prima il cui elemento distributivo è formato dal sistema scala aperta-loggiato, che si sviluppa nel cortile con pilastri ottagoni. Un secondo intervento è rappresentato dall’inserimento del portale e dalla loggia d’angolo., che a pochi anni dalla sua costruzione fu tamponata in occasione di un restauro dell’edificio. L’attuale nome lega il palazzo alla famiglia Novelli, ultimi proprietari. The sheet, developed for the research "Towards a repertoire Catalan Architecture" (national coordinator Prof. Cesare Cundari), created together with many other cards to record the consistency of incidents related to the Catalan architecture in Campania, was prepared to be poured into a geo-referenced database specially created as part of the research itself. This sheet describes the building Novelli already Petrucci of the town of Carinola in the province of Caserta. The palace was built in the second half of the fifteenth century as the residence of Antonello Petrucci, secretary of King Ferrante. The factory is characterized by a set of typical elements of Catalan in the spatial distribution that is in front and led to the hypothesis that more building phases during the fifteenth century: a first element of which the distribution is made by the system-wide open-porch, which develops in the courtyard with octagonal pillars. A second operation is represented by the inclusion of the portal and the corner loggia, which a few years after its construction was buffered during a restoration of the building. The current name links the palace to the Novelli family, last owners.
