The essay builds the story of manufactures of tobacco of Rome, in terms of production and distribution. Further analysis is restricted to the organization of production space and their transformations during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in relation to changes of manufactured products: from the snuff and chewing tobaccos to the cigars.

Il saggio ricostruisce le vicende delle manifatture dei tabacchi di Roma, sul piano produttivo e della distribuzione del prodotto. Un approfondimento è riservato all'organizzazione degli spazi produttivi e alle loro trasformazioni nel corso del Sette e Ottocento in relazione ai cambiamenti dei prodotti lavorati: dal trinciato ai sigari.
