The richness of information embedded in an NMR spectrum can be fully exploited only by an approach taking into consideration at the same time all the data pertaining to the measured parameters. The formal equivalence that can be stated between the multivariate data anal. techniques and the physics of complex systems enabled development of a model that gives the researcher a complete picture of the system under study. The generality of this approach makes it well suited to cope with every kind of phenomenon that can be described by a multivariate data matrix.
