The impact the Carducci's poetic production had on Italian music is investigated, with particular effect in the early Twentieth century, when the reception of "Carducci-vate" was subsized by that of Carducci as decadentist. Strong interest is devoted to two compositions by two authors very different, who signed respectively the end of an age and the beginning of another of avant-garde, but connected to the same inspiration to Carducci: Giuseppe Martucci (Nevicata, 1907) and Alfredo Casella (Notte di Maggio, 1913)

Abstract
The impact the Carducci's poetic production had on Italian music is investigated, with particular effect in the early Twentieth century, when the reception of "Carducci-vate" was subsized by that of Carducci as decadentist. Strong interest is devoted to two compositions by two authors very different, who signed respectively the end of an age and the beginning of another of avant-garde, but connected to the same inspiration to Carducci: Giuseppe Martucci (Nevicata, 1907) and Alfredo Casella (Notte di Maggio, 1913)I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
