This monothematic issue of the RIVISTA DI PSICOLINGUISTICA APPLICATA faces the numerous aspects involved in sign interpreting into vocal languages and viceversa. It analyzes semiotic, psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic specificities of sign languages which make this type of translation a very special case of translation, and therefore deserves particular attention in education.
