Il Federalismo nel Novecento

Federalism, in the XX century, passes through various phases: between the 1800 hundreds and the 1900 hundreds the concept of national sovereignty and its crisis was carefully considered, then, in the period between the two world wars, there were political movements acting in favour of a unified Europe, so able to overcome such fratricidal conflicts, and after WWII theoretical as well as practical attempts were done to build a European Federation and the Union of European States. All that based on the dialectics between the Institutionalism of Spinelli and the Functionalism of Monnet.

Il federalismo nel Novecent attraversa varie fasi, legate nel periodo fra Ottocento e Novecento alla riflessione sulla sovranità e la crisi della nazione, nel periodo delle due guerre al pensiero e ai movimenti che volevano soprattutto in Europa superare i conflitti fratricidi delle due guerre, e nel periodo posbellico ai tentativi teorici e pratici di costruire la federazione europea e l'unione degli stiti d'Europa. Si è avuto poi sorattutto la dialettica fra istituzionalismo di Spinelli e funzionalismo di Monnet, con diverse gradazioni intermedie.
