Larrea Juan Bautista, a member of the social group of lawyers, tax lawyer and judge was in the service of the monarchy in the thirties of the seventeenth century, a period marked by strong internal problems and dominated by the figure of the favorite of Philip IV, Gaspar de Guzmán, Count-Duke of Olivares. With the analysis of the trajectory of Larrea, this research aims to investigate the way in which connected and entwined operation of the apparatus of government and administration of justice and the political positions taken by those involved in them. Larrea, active in senior management, wrote Granatenses Decisions and Fiscal Allegationes, works that were widely distributed circuit of the common law. The analysis of these texts shed light on one side on the way that the positions taken by counsel can translate political vision of the Spanish monarchy of his time, while showing clearly formulated social advocacy group.
Juan Bautista Larrea, miembro del grupo social de los letrados, fue abogado fiscal y juez al servicio de la monarquía en los años treinta del siglo XVII, un período marcado por fuertes problemas internos y dominado por la figura del valido de Felipe IV, Gaspar de Guzmán, Conde-Duque de Olivares. Con el análisis de la trayectoria de Larrea, esta investigación tiene como objetivo investigar la manera en la que se conectaron y entrelazaron el funcionamiento del aparato de gobierno y administración de la justicia y las posiciones políticas defendidas por los agentes implicados en ellas. Larrea, activo en la alta administración, escribió las Decisiones Granatenses y las Allegationes Fiscales, obras que fueron ampliamente difundidas en el circuito del Derecho común. El analisis de estos textos arroja luz por un lado sobre la manera en la que las posiciones adoptadas por el letrado pueden traducir la visión política de la monarquía española de su tiempo, y a la vez muestran la defensa del grupo social claramente formulada.
