Verso un nuovo multiculturalismo, ovvero un nuovo paradigma per le scienze sociali

An unchanging interpretation of the changing reality is the worst mistake for the social sciences. After more than two centuries, the globalization is deeply changing the society and its effects are still not clear, especially about the new meeting of different cultures. Maybe, it is the first time from the modern revolution that a new interpretative frame comes up. The modernity crisis and the global society represent two main marks against the social sciences paradigm that today seems to be inadequate to analyse the present social processes. Among them just the multiculturalism is one of the most important social conditions that stress this innovation and about it the scholars propone original interpretations, also referring to the modernity. If the basic assumption is that the human dignity is the fundamental element for everyone a part from his/her cultural identity, a new paradigm can be assumed to interpret the cultural diversities in the global societies. This paper intends to suggest an original interpretative paradigm for the social sciences through the present multiculturalism experience: a rational analysis of the social actions in the global societies appears the more adequate one to save the cultural differences and to recognize some of common, the human self-respect.
