This contribution presents two young and prominent Yemeni writers, Samìr ‘Abd al-Fattàh, Wajdi al-Ahdal, who deftly combined literature and political engagement. They represent also a generation of intellectuals who combine writing and civil engagement also in favor of the women of their country. In their novels they deal topics as migration, exile, ghurbah, pointing out as the poor and the women remain the weakest link of the society chain. Samīr ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ, Wağdī al-Ahdal with their novels are literally upsetting, also from a formal point of view, the Yemeni contemporary literary scene, experimenting new pathways.
