Dalla ‘convenienza’ alla ‘compatibilità’ del restauro: note di un percorso

The essay discusses the problems associated with the principle of compatibility in the restoration starting from the historical roots and highlighting the complexity of a concept that is declined at different scales, involving material aspects, architectural, functional, urban and territorial and specialized disciplines related to them. The concepts are expressed with the help of some concrete examples drawn from case studies of painting, sculpture and architecture in particular.

Il saggio illustra le problematiche connesse con il principio della compatibilità nel restauro partendo dalle radici storiche ed evidenziando la complessità di un concetto che si declina a scale diverse, coinvolgendo aspetti materiali, architettonici, funzionali, urbanistiche e territoriali e le discipline specialistiche ad essi legati. I concetti sono espressi anche con l'ausilio di alcuni esempi concreti, attinti dalla casistica pittorica, scultorea e soprattutto architettonica.
