Tecniche costruttive dell’edilizia storica. Conoscere per conservare

The complexity of rules, resources and results that characterize the historical buildings over time can largely be recovered through the study of its structural characteristics. The reconnaissance throughout the area, analytical surveys of buildings, historical and archival research, laboratory testing, testing of construction are some of the most useful tools for knowledge, often selected on the basis of the characteristics of the existing, typically related the special interests of scholars, sometimes aimed at solving specific problems of restoration of the buildings. Not always, however, is to ensure a sufficient exchange of information: the volume seeks to provide a framework for this research varied and manifold. Contributions of a general nature and synthetic that return the overall picture of the issues addressed are accompanied by more in-depth analytical, dedicated to the characterization of historical contexts and geographical unit, individual construction techniques, specific technical issues. What emerges is an overall extremely rich and stimulating, constructive symptomatic of the different identities that mark time in the Italian territory, open to future research and, most importantly, irreducible to forcible typings which rimandono often repetitive and standardized procedures for restoration.

La complessità di regole, risorse e risultati che contraddistinguono nel tempo l'edilizia storica può essere in buona parte recuperata attraverso lo studio delle sue caratteristiche costruttive. Le ricognizioni diffuse nel territorio, i rilievi analitici degli edifici, le ricerche storico-archivistiche, le prove di laboratorio, le verifiche di cantiere costituiscono alcuni degli strumenti più utili per la conoscenza, spesso selezionati sulla base delle caratteristiche dell'esistente, in genere legati agli interessi particolari degli studiosi, a volte mirati alla soluzione di specifici problemi di restauro degli edifici. Non sempre viene però garantito un sufficiente scambio di informazioni: il volume cerca di offrire un quadro variegato e molteplice di queste ricerche. Contributi di carattere generale e sintetico che restituiscono il quadro complessivo dei temi affrontati si accompagnano ad approfondimenti più analitici, dedicati alla caratterizzazione di contesti storici-geografici unitari, di singole tecniche costruttive, di problematiche tecniche specifiche. Ne emerge un quadro complessivo quanto mai ricco e stimolante, sintomatico delle diverse identità costruttive che contrassegnano nel tempo il territorio italiano, aperto ad approfondimenti futuri e, soprattutto, irriducibile alle forzose tipizzazioni a cui rimandono spesso procedure di restauro ripetitive e standardizzate.
