This paper examines the determinants of innovation in a population of firms belonging to three different Italian industries (chemical, electronic and textile). Most of the works in the literature analyzed the importance of the firm and the external factors (regional and scientific competences, etc) in the innovation separately. Hence we make a first attempt to analyze them together. Our expectation concerns the existence of different innovation models in sectors with different characteristics looking for the role played by firm and regional characteristic in the business model development.

Abstract
This paper examines the determinants of innovation in a population of firms belonging to three different Italian industries (chemical, electronic and textile). Most of the works in the literature analyzed the importance of the firm and the external factors (regional and scientific competences, etc) in the innovation separately. Hence we make a first attempt to analyze them together. Our expectation concerns the existence of different innovation models in sectors with different characteristics looking for the role played by firm and regional characteristic in the business model development.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
