Equilibri di genere in Europa

Among all the changes - economic, socio -demographic and political - have occurred , so numerous and of such magnitude as to alter the social and economic context , as well the geographical Europe , there is something certainly one that can be considered common to almost all countries and that , in the opinion of many, is one of the newest and most characteristic phenomena of the second half of the last century . It involves the process of emancipation of women, their climb to education and their massive raid in the labor market of all the EU countries , even in areas considered for a long time male , with a significant impact in every social structure. The Union The European Union has in fact been one of the driving forces of change women in society and their position on the labor market , but to want to outline state of the art , in spite of the efforts have not yet succeeded to produce the step change required to create a symmetry of gender and , simultaneously, an improvement in the quality of life for all men and women , then that would result in a better balance of the entire society. European countries offer a variety of contextual variables and an opportunity to study similarities and differences between social realities and different organizational areas . There it is placed , therefore, the objective of analyzing the status of gender mainstreaming in the various countries , through an analysis cross-country, focusing on those areas that seem more significant as the economy , education and politics.

Fra i tutti i mutamenti — economici, socio-demografici e politici — avvenuti, così numerosi e di entità tale da mutare il quadro socioeconomico, oltre quello geografico dell’Europa, ve n’è certamente uno che può essere considerato praticamente comune a tutti i paesi e che, ad avviso di molti, costituisce uno dei fenomeni più caratterizzanti e più nuovi della seconda metà del secolo scorso. Esso riguarda il processo di emancipazione delle donne, la loro scalata all’istruzione e la loro irruzione massiccia nel mercato del lavoro di tutti i paesi dell’Unione, anche in ambiti considerati per lungo tempo maschili, con una notevole incidenza in ogni struttura sociale. L’Unione Europea è stata di fatto una delle forze motrici del cambiamento delle donne nella società e della loro posizione sul mercato del lavoro, ma, a voler delineare lo stato dell’arte, nonostante gli sforzi compiuti non si è ancora riusciti a produrre quel cambio di passo necessario a creare una simmetria di genere e, contestualmente, un miglioramento della qualità della vita per tutti, uomini e donne, che si tradurrebbe poi in un maggiore equilibrio dell’intera società. I paesi europei offrono una grande varietà di variabili contestuali e un’opportunità di studiare similarità e differenze tra realtà sociali e differenti ambiti organizzativi. Ci si è posti, quindi, l’obiettivo di analizzare lo status della dimensione di genere nei vari paesi, attraverso un’analisi cross-country, focalizzando l’attenzione su quegli ambiti che ci sembrano maggiormente significativi come l’economia, l’istruzione e la politica.
