Origen

The modern view of the history of philosophy highlights the importance of the Christian authors, in particular as regards the history of the late antiquity. In fact the Alexandrian Christian authors, and, before them, Philo, the Hellenistic Jewish writer, developed the middle Platonic thought. Origen has a central role, given that his theology is the most original, coherent and developed in the field of Christianity up to that time. La moderna impostazione di storia della filosofia inserisce a pieno titolo gli autori cristiani. Fra questi Origene assume un particolare rilievo perché il suo pensiero è il più coerente e sviluppato in campo cristiano fino a quel momento, con soluzioni originali. Si segnala anche l’assunzione organica del medio platonismo, alcuni esiti mostra significativi paralleli con le soluzioni di Plotino.
