Abstract
The Common Assembly of the ECSC decided to exercise its control function in a higly extended way. Following this example, the Assembly of the Three Communities also sought since 1958 to extend its influence. After the crises of 1965, new development prospects opened for the European Parliament at the end of the decade. Therefore, the Parliament formed by representatives appointed by the national legislative bodies left an important inheritance to it successor in 1979: the tendency not to settle for the prevalence of the intergovernmental dimension, to claim the importance of the principle of citizens' representation and to exploit as far as possible the margins granted by the Treaties.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
