The volume reconstructs both urban and rural landscape from legal cuneiform texts dating to the Late Bronze Age found at Emar, modern Meskene Qadime, located in Sirya, Middle Euphrates Valley. Epigraphic documentation are compared to the archaeological data to provide a historical reconstruction of the town's ancient landscape.
