II è discussa la lettura del Tasso dei poeti antichi compresi nella Giuntina di Rime antiche (1527). I capitoli III e V forniscono nuovi documenti sulla Gerusalemme distrutta e sull’intenzione del Marino di passare in Inghilterra e nelle Fiandre nel 1615.
