This work explores interdiscursivity in internal business communications, and in particular the re-contextualization of educationally-related orders of discourse, the “language of learning” in corporate messaging. It looks at metaphorical networks and embedded meaning relationships, related to a learning “macro-metaphor” in the creation of employer branding and the construal of image and identity of the knowledge-able organization, as part of fast-changing global business priorities and practices. A process-based, dynamical model of metaphor is proposed as a future avenue for research.
