In this paper we will describe some activities related to the launch environment and health monitoring in which we have been working in the last few years. The first part of the paper is devoted to acoustic response of large and light structures during launch. The second one introduces a particular approach useful for the dynamics of space structures excited at the base, such as the ones mounted inside the fairing of a launch vehicle. The last part shows how to perform an experimental modal analysis using surface attached or embedded fibre optic sensors with the ultimate objective of providing an efficient tool for health monitoring.

Abstract
In this paper we will describe some activities related to the launch environment and health monitoring in which we have been working in the last few years. The first part of the paper is devoted to acoustic response of large and light structures during launch. The second one introduces a particular approach useful for the dynamics of space structures excited at the base, such as the ones mounted inside the fairing of a launch vehicle. The last part shows how to perform an experimental modal analysis using surface attached or embedded fibre optic sensors with the ultimate objective of providing an efficient tool for health monitoring.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
