This article discusses the power of legal experts (lawyers and judges) in Bologna in the thirteenth century. IN the first place considering the importance of the jurists in municipal institutions as it emerges from the sources of law (statutes and Riformagioni), then describes the functioning of these institutions so as to show the possibilities and limitations of intervention that jurists could meet. Finally, sualla basis of unpublished documentation is given on behalf of a conspiracy organized in 1287 d aun group of lawyers that provides a good illustration of how igiurisperiti exercising power to achieve their obbiettivi.In this paper I discuss the power of law experts (jurists and judges) in 13th century Bologna. First, I Consider the Importance of law experts in communal istitutions according to Functional regulatory sources (statutes and Riformagioni). Then I describe how These institutions worked in order to show the possibilities and the limitations faced by law experts. Finally, on the basis of unpublished archive's documents, I told a story about a conspiracy organized in 1287 by a group of law experts. In my opinion, in this story how one sees Clearly law experts exerted influence in order to attain Their aims.
In questo articolo si discute il potere degli esperti di diritto (giuristi e giudici) nella Bologna del secolo XIII. IN primo luogo si considera l'importanza dei giurisperiti nelle istituzioni comunali così come emerge dalle fonti normative (statuti e riformagioni); quindi si descrive il funzionamento di queste istituzioni così da mostrare le possibilità di intervento e le limitazioni che i giurisperiti potevano incontrare. Infine, sualla base di documentazione inedita si dà conto di una congiura organizzata nel 1287 d aun gruppo di giuristi che costituisce una buona illustrazione di come igiurisperiti esercitavano potere per raggiungere i loro obbiettivi.
