In the first two decades of the XIX century, Japan did complete the transition into a mass society, based on the circulation of ideas and information through the media. The media system deeply changed, during the Thirties, to became a fundamental instrument of propaganda, actively supporting totalitarian regime that ruled the Country.
Già negli anni Venti del Novecento, in Giappone si è compiuta la trasformazione verso una società di massa, fondata sulla circolazione di idee e informazioni attraverso i media. Questi stessi media si sono trasformati, nel corso degli anni Trenta, in uno strumento fondamentale di propaganda e sostegno attivo al sistema totalitario che dominava il Paese.
