The Law 135 of 2001, known as Basic Law on tourism, in addition to reform and reorganize the industry, has introduced a new type of tourist district, the Local Tourist System. These sub-regional territorial entities with the task of organizing the complex systemic in the sense of tourism activities. The route is about scientific hypotheses, however, partly outdated, and large degree of autonomy to the individual regions, to the point that the current operational framework is heterogeneous, both from the point of view of the actions of the products. Despite this, some regions seem to have understood the essence of the rule, achieving significant results in terms of local development and international competitiveness, indicating probably the right way forward.
Le legge 135 del 2001, nota come legge quadro sul turismo, oltre a riformare e riorganizzare il settore, ha introdotto una nuova tipologia di distretto turistico, il Sistema Turistico Locale. Si tratta di entità territoriali sub-regionali aventi il compito di organizzare in senso sistemico il complesso delle attività turistiche. Il percorso si sviluppa tuttavia su ipotesi scientifiche in parte superate, e lascia ampia autonomia alle singole regioni, al punto che l’attuale quadro operativo risulta eterogeneo, sia dal punto di vista delle azioni che dei prodotti. Nonostante ciò alcune regioni sembrano aver capito l’essenza della norma, raggiungendo risultati apprezzabili in termini di sviluppo locale e di competitività internazionale, indicando probabilmente la giusta via da seguire.
