Abstract
The essay was inspired by a visit to Le Corbusier made in Rome between 22 and 24 September 1960, accompanied by his collaborators present and Georges Guillermo Jullian de la Fuente, to visit some of the Olympic facilities with Pier Luigi Nervi. The Games of Rome had ended a few days ago, LC was planning the sports city of Baghdad, and was particularly interested to analyze some of the solutions adopted in the Stadio Flaminio, but not only. From the documents kept in the archives of the Fondation Le Corbusier, in the light of new materials and new interviews, the study reconstructs the Roman days of Corbu and, more generally, the relations of cooperation, mutual influence and friendship that LC and nerves developed over the years.
