This volume presents the outcomes of a multidisciplinary research programme dedicated to the conservation, interpretation, and technological enhancement of the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius and its architectural setting in the Exedra of the Capitoline Museums in Rome. Developed through collaboration between the Capitoline Museums and Sapienza University of Rome, the research integrates historical and architectural studies with digital technologies, including laser scanning, photogrammetry, numerical modelling, robotics, and sensor-based structural monitoring. Particular attention is given to the development of digital twins as tools for understanding structural and environmental behaviour, supporting predictive maintenance, and improving the management of cultural heritage. The volume also addresses the monitoring, safety, and sustainability of the Exedra's glass roof, highlighting how interdisciplinary approaches can connect historical knowledge, engineering analysis, and technological innovation to support the long-term conservation of cultural heritage.

Abstract
The volume also addresses the monitoring, safety, and sustainability of the Exedra's glass roof, highlighting how interdisciplinary approaches can connect historical knowledge, engineering analysis, and technological innovation to support the long-term conservation of cultural heritage.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
