Mozambique's avian diversity is largely undocumented, lacking a definitive bird checklist. This study aims to fill this gap by focusing on Inhaca Island in Southern Mozambique. Nowadays, the country has limited bird distribution data with insufficient detail on specific locations within ecosystems like mangroves. Mangroves play globally significant ecological and economic roles. However, the avian populations on Inhaca Island are poorly understood. The main objectives of our study were assessing comprehensively and record bird species within Inhaca Island's mangrove ecosystems using various monitoring techniques. Additionally, we sought to evaluate the effectiveness of these techniques and explore their applicability to Southern Africa.

Abstract
Mozambique's avian diversity is largely undocumented, lacking a definitive bird checklist. This study aims to fill this gap by focusing on Inhaca Island in Southern Mozambique. Nowadays, the country has limited bird distribution data with insufficient detail on specific locations within ecosystems like mangroves. Mangroves play globally significant ecological and economic roles. However, the avian populations on Inhaca Island are poorly understood. The main objectives of our study were assessing comprehensively and record bird species within Inhaca Island's mangrove ecosystems using various monitoring techniques. Additionally, we sought to evaluate the effectiveness of these techniques and explore their applicability to Southern Africa.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
